There's a shengjianbao place here called Little Yum (it might actually be an international chain? '小扬生煎' ) and they have a 'wacky fusion' prawn and cheese one that is strangely good, I am imagining it's kind of like that.

the only cuisine i broadly do not care for is filipino. i've tried so many things and i just never enjoy it
usually there's at least some things i enjoy, like shengjianbao from shanghainese cuisine. i like lechon i guess but whole roast pork isn't like, specifically filipino

Shanghai shengjianbao which tasted fine but was not quite the same thing because the amount of juice in the traditional version makes it impossible to eat with toothpicks.
-Also stopped by a 24 hour department store to pick up a bottle of conditioner, which would've been unwieldy to bring with.

The French toast was tasty, the truffle mushroom pasta very dry and meh, but the shengjianbao (my favorite kind of dumpling!) were brilliant — I’d happily have had another few! #thatjohnonUO

Baked bread!? It's called Shengjianbao!? I did buy it because the lady at the stall told me it was delicious and recommended it...! It was really delicious and I ate it all up in no time...! Next time I have to go to Shanghai and enjoy the otaku lifestyle and the food!
