I'm silently one of those haters but its hard to pin down why. Indie animation comes in waves of small creators who never get recognized and 1 big studio shitting out pilot after pilot. Carried by marketable, appealing aestetics, and "lore" that repel me on sight.

I've seen some people (even notable ones) call out issues and stick to their guns. But the problem is, not enough people do it enough to make a difference.
