Naious is difficult. Thunder Force II on Easy is harder than Genesis on Hard lol (plus more levels)
Otherwise, you're better off checking this list since I'm not sure what kind of shmups you like.

Outside's shmups are hard to recommend without qualifiers for reasons that are immediately apparent but that's too bad because Fox Flare Night's extra stage boss is truly galaxy brained and deserves to be played
