My medication insurance, SilverScript, will be going from $136 to $187 per month at the beginning of the new insurance year. What we might have gained in lowerred prescription cost was lost in the rise of prescription insurance costs.

About 1.2 million enrollees in Medicare stand-alone prescription drug plans (PDPs) will see their plan terminated on 12/31.

Most are in one plan, the SilverScript Choice PDP sponsored by CVS Health, which is being terminated in 13 PDP regions for 2027: https://on.kff.org/4zXlfXM

Know someone with SilverScript, Humana, or UnitedHealthcare? Send this to them. A lot of people throw out these letters without opening them.

4.3 million people on Medicare are losing their plan on December 31st. And this time it’s not just Medicare Advantage. If you have Original Medicare with a separate drug plan, you could be on the list too.

Just dug this out and the savings for me and my wife will be $115.60 per month, each!
Part D from company X is the same Part D as company Y.
Very slight differences in total out of pocket and annual limit.

Wellcare PDP

It doesn't work with Medicare Advantage Plans, only real Medicare.

Among all of the Medicare medical premium increases this year… news from Aetna has arrived today that its Medicare Part D Silverscript Choice (PDP) plan will be ending this year. Yup. Just prior to that Big Beautiful Bill that will be giving tax breaks to the wealthy.

The overall number of stand-alone prescription drug plans will drop from 360 to 312, with two plans (HealthSpring Extra and SilverScript Choice) pulling out of multiple regions. Humana remains the only insurer offering three PDPs in all 34 PDP regions.

This is how much my SilverScript will go up next year.

Works like this: I get my Rx at CVS; Silverscript is my PBM for traditional Medicare (no Advantage plan)Plan D Rx coverage; Silverscript & CVS are OWNED BY AETNA; Aetna is one of the largest Advantage plan companies.

Insurance adds NOTHING to care. It's all expense that could better be used on care

You do still have to purchase a medication plan - Medicare D. This is normal. My family is on Silverscript. It is about $100’a month. It depends on what meds you are on. Your pharmacy can help you chose the one that is best for you. Advantage programs sometimes offer these, but it is not worth it.

The Prescription plans are a separate plan you have to obtain. All of my family is in Silverscript & we have been pleased. She has an $8000 donut hole, but that is only for certain medications. Biden passed a $2000 max a yr for Seniors on Medicare if Trump doesn’t destroy it. It started Jan 1st.

Siverscript- Diclofenac gel not covered. Use Voltaren gel.

Also Silverscript, when Rx for Voltaren gel is filled. "Discuss generic savings with member."

It seems SilverScript has gone the move their help desk offshore route with predictable results.

The customer ended up paying out of pocket when the problem was not solved.

SilverScript/Aetna/CVS which one is actually the insurer? Denying a regular prescription because Dr said something wrong? In regularly a occurring prescription? Call pharmacy get an answer machine. Call ins & get a computer. Then off shore customer service. Then start appeal. Cost cutting gone wild.

Any health care folks on here (such as @charlesgaba.com) familiar with GEHA’s new SilverScript prescription plan for enrollees who are also on Medicare? Sounds like a “forced” participation in Part D but is unclear. 🤷‍♂️

My SilverScript premiums a years ago went fromm$22.50 to $49 for this year. I just received notice it is now going up by $50 for this coming year. And I only have 3 generic meds.
