This guitar is a rescue project. I was given a Silvertone 1423 Jupiter stripped neck and hacked to pieces body with the side missing, painted with ceiling paint. All the hardware was missing. This is the restore. Ebay pickups, original tailpiece, custom pickguard. 1/2 #luthier #guitar

Silvertone-Danelectro U1/1317 - single pickup white/bronze/black electric guitar. This is a Silvertone electric guitar made by Danelectro of Neptune New Jersey in 1957. The body color is ivory. It's serial number is 5xx7. It has one single-coil lipstick pickup (which is split on one side.) The neck is straight and all the electronics work correctly. The neck feels like a standard Danelectro width but just slightly smaller. Everything appears to be original except the knobs. They are Harmony "cupcake" knobs from the 1950s/early 1960s. The body is the smaller U1 "peanut" size. Check out the "leatherette" binding, crazy! Description from VintageSilvertones.com As you can see, someone started refinishing it but never completed the project. The guitar plays fine. So it can either be a project or just a nice little guitar to jam on. Could be a hot punk rock guitar! The interesting thing is the finish is ivory, as seen on the back, but underneath that is a bronze finish. The front even has black paint under the white but that could be primer, possibly. Danelectro would often recycle body parts. So it's entirely possible the ivory is the original factory finish done over a copper or black body. But put a couple of coatings of ivory car paint and you're almost new again! It comes with a gig bag. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Teisco made a Mosrite inspired guitar for Sears/Silvertone. German carve 3pu 3 volume 1 tone control & on/off for each pu. Super clean w/serious wood grain.

We have had a few Silvertone-Teisco Mosrite electric guitars. Here's another example of them. This is a Silvertone, solid body, Mosrite-style, electric guitar. It was made in Japan by Teisco for Silvertone. The model number on the back is 309.14459. It's completely original including the chipboard case. It's in almost mint condition. The only flaws are some wear in the finish; which is mainly some buckle rash on the back. Otherwise, it's in beautiful condition. The neck is straight and all the electronics work properly. It has mother-of-pearl inlays on the neck, fully functional whammy bar, and some of the most incredible grain in the wood. The neck pickup is full and rich sounding, the middle is full but more twangy, and the bridge is twangy-surf sounding. It includes the original case with the plush, red, shag lining. Silvertone Harmony made two pickup electric guitar in a red sunburst with tremolo and knobs to control the tone and volume for each pickup along with on/off controls for the pickups. Inspired by the Rickenbacker guitars of the mid-1960s. This guitar was produced from 1967-1972 approximately. This is a double-cutaway Silvertone made by Danelectro of Neptune, NJ made in February of 1964. The guitar features two single coil lipstick tube pickups with stacked tone and volume controls for each along with a toggle to switch between neck, bridge or both pickups. It has a solid-center Masonite over pine body with white tolex binding, a white Masonite pickguard on which the controls are mounted and a four-way adjustable chromed brass bridge with a rosewood saddle. There's two aluminum strap pins and a redburst finish with sparkling silver colored accents. This guitar is 100% original and in good condition. With its fantastic fast action and terrific tone, this guitar plays like a dream. Although this instrument already looks lovely, a previous owner, perhaps a resident of the Haight, chose to further decorate it with Grateful Dead stickers. We chose to leave this personal touch intact as it represents part of its long history. This is the higher-end, two pickup, model of the amp-in-case line but this guitar does not include the amp-in-case. Get this great guitar while you can.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

Another guitar that we purchased modified. This one is a Silvertone Danelectro U1 baby blue repainted and modified from 1958. A classic Silvertone that got a face-lift. It was probably black originally--repainted baby blue. The tolex was removed and replaced with a modern-day equivalent. While my internet was offline I found a whole lot of guitars I completely forgot about including this Silvertone 1452 amp-in-case. This one has a replaced speaker. The tremolo control foot switch was missing. But, it's still a great, late period Danelectro-made Silvertone guitar. This is a 1968 Silvertone made by Danelectro's Coral division. This is the higher-end two pick up amp-in-case model. It's the last Danelectro's made for Sears. This guitar has two lipstick pickups. The amp-in-case was changed slightly for this last generation. Silvertone K141 (Kay model number) guitar made by Kay for Silvertone in 1953-1954. Kay issued variations on this guitar from 1952 onward. The models were branded K-125 in 1952, K-141 circa 1954, and K-136 in 1958. This was Kay's answer to the Harmony H41/H42/H44 and Newport models; which were most likely a response to the first Les Paul, Esquire and Broadcaster guitars.
