100%

Solidarity with colleagues in SIPTU.
SIPTU has a clear message for public servants scheduled to work from home on Wednesday. Don't do it.

Don't open your laptop. Don't check your emails. Don't teach online. Don't answer your phone.

A strike only works when the work stops.

Remote work is work. #UnionStrike

Breezy morning shift at Maynooth University. Very well attended. Everyone in good spirits and no incidents.

Out with IFUT and SIPTU colleagues at Trinity’s Front Gate today. Big turnout and lots of support for strike from people on street and horn tooting drivers.

I'm an SNA. I know they won't, as I won't. My understanding is that SIPTU workers will but am open to correction.

Solidarity with all on strike in Ireland today.

As for minister for public expenditure Jack Chambers characterising the strike as “deeply unfair on the general public”, these workers are also part of the public, should be treated fairly, paid properly, and their working conditions improved.

What a fantastic day of solidarity. Wonderful to catch up with so many brilliant colleagues, and to have such overwhelming support from the wider public. Power to the people! ✊️ @ifut.bsky.social

As SIPTU member, proud to be on the picket line today with public sector workers all across Ireland. Up the workers- those who teach, who care for the young, the sick and the old, who carry, who organise, who administrate, who all work together for the public good! Fair pay for public services!

Fórsa, the INMO and Siptu say the Government must offer a credible response to pay concerns to avert further industrial action

I went to see De Gaulle: Résistance last night and I have just come home from the very good humoured SIPTU/IFUT/UNITE picket at the UCD Clonskeagh Gate, so all I can say is: Bon courage, mes braves! ✊️

I saw a video of his remarks in which Micheál Martin stated he was directly elected by the people, with the implication this gives him greater legitimacy than unions. he was, of course, only directly elected as a TD for Cork South-Central, which means he represents fewer people than SIPTU

I'm in SIPTU. I don't understand the strike. Not in the sense that there aren't pay issues. More in the why don't ye go to the table way.
I don't work Wednesdays as it happens so I'm not affected so far. But if I was. I won't cross a picket, I'll strike.
October 13, 2026 at 8:18 AM
If I could strike myself, I would.
Rang my bike bell in support when passing the school on the way to work.

They are doing what what the rest of us worker bees can't do, saying we've had enough.
