I've had zero issues pairing aqara sensors directly to my own skyconnect zigbee dongle plugged into my home assistant green server.

I am absolutely not using anyone else's hub though. Everything interfaces directly with my skyconnect dongle plugged directly into my home assistant green server.

The migration from SkyConnect to Home Assistant Connect (ZBT-2) with ZHA was super seamless. Took less than 30 seconds!

Home Assistant mit Skyconnect und ZHA
Sinking deeper into the #homeassistant addiction. Started off with a HA Green and SkyConnect but quickly found myself wanting more power and reliability for the Zigbee Network. Found a great deal on a refurbished Dell Optiplex SFF PC with a Quad-Core i7, 32GB of RAM and 256GB SSD.

Also I've got it running through skyconnect instead of the aqara zigbee hub which makes me feel better about security and data privacy.

I highly recommend the SLZB-06 for Zigbee 3.0. The range and signal strength really improved the reliability of all my Zigbee devices compared to the SkyConnect.
I ended up keeping the SkyConnect and re-flashed it to run a Thread network.

zigbee uses 2.4ghz band so it can clash with 2.4ghz wifi, yes. i'm using home assistant's own skyconnect (now called connect ZBT-1), and happy with it.

ok I think I just got my Home Assistant set up with Matter and Thread using the SkyConnect USB dongle and I have to say this is way more complicated than it should be and those names are terrible. I hope this gets smoothed out in the next couple years!
