One week until the tram routes 11 and 12 start to run on the Crown Bridges connection. Today a dress rehearsal: test running with the opening day timetables. Good opportunity to see how it looks and feels along the tracks.
It feels good.

Wel lopen de netwerken in elkaar over. Zo loop de Stadtbahn van Düsseldorf tot in Duisburg, de tram van Duisburg tot in Mühlheim, und so weiter. Zo kan je bijna het hele Ruhrgebied doorreizen per (snel)tram, wat wel bijzonder is.

Uiteindelijk zou de Stadtbahn overal de traditionele tram moeten vervangen, en zou dit één groot Stadtbahn-netwerk moeten worden voor het Ruhrgebied moeten worden. Maar zo ver kwam het niet en de tram/Strassenbahn en sneltram/Stadtbahn bestaan nu naast elkaar.
