I picked up some blue quartz when I was in El Paso and finally got around to slabbing some. This material has a nice darker blue speckling. #bluewizardrocks #lapidary #cabochon #jewelry #bluequartz

Ngl I really can’t wait until enough graders and scalpers lose out big on slabbing MtG cards not realizing they’re game pieces and lose value when you can’t play them

And they never come back to Magic ever again lol

This is my 27th de-slabbing.

“If I am not slabbing them, they are going in a deck and getting played.”

But with sneakers.

This is *even more evil* than comics slabbing! Records are for playing, not for... whatever this shit is.

Slabbing anything that came out in the past 10 years of mtg's turboslop era that isn't a serialized card is the dumbest fuckin thing you can do
September 21, 2025 at 2:06 AM

Slabbing comic books. I know a lot of my comic friends have had some of theirs slabbed but I've never liked the idea. Comics are meant to be read. Every time I see one slabbed, I want to free it from its prison.
We all have something that makes us fussy. What’s yours?
August 27, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Like a Black Lotus or something I could understand. You don't play with a legit one of those in good condition anyways but slabbing recent cards? Hell. Slabbing is a losing venture in COMIC BOOKS these days ffs.

Alway good to know when slabbing comes up
bsky.app/profile/derf...
This is all you need to unslab a book. Plus a careful steady hand. I’ve probably freed 25 books.

You'll be slabbing this one at CGC, looking for a 9.8
September 23, 2026 at 7:39 AM
slabbing was always a scam and it's just finding its natural level
Ha. What a surprise.

Scammers have figured out how to open CGC coffins w/o damaging them. They remove, say, a NM 9.6 copy, replace it with a mid-grade one, and send it back to CGC to be re-sealed as a fake 9.6 copy. Then send the removed book to CGC. Then have TWO copies to sell to CGC investors.
CGC slabbing scandal rocks the collecting world
The discovery of a scammer who was opening slabbed comics and swapping them out has sent shockwaves through the comics collecting community.

I can't understand the reasoning behind slabbing comics that have never been expensive and in all likelihood never will become expensive. Am I missing something?
