Hay una diferencia clave: uno es de SNES y el otro de NES.
Lo que SMB3 logra siendo un juego de NES es de locos.
Yo valoro tan bien SMB3 por lo que alcanza dentro de su ecosistema

Honorable mentions to SMB3, Link to the Past, Mario Kart 64, GTA: San Andreas and Psychonauts, but Skyrim’s the best game I’ve ever played. Nothing beats building Lakeview Manor and adopting kids, saving them from their crappy lives.

Mine was shaped like SNES of all things. They didn't even put on it the real good stuff, a friend had a real nes with smb3 and it was the best to go to her house to play that.

Ocarina shares the same childhood love as SMB3 for many of the same reasons.
That said, I have a lot to play right now and money is tight, so I have not bought the game.
My family will buy it for me on Christmas, to make sure Zelda 64 gives me two happy Christmases in my life, 30 yrs apart.

Broadly agree! The physics based movement, imo, again makes the speedrun emphasis on competitive play make a bit more sense compared to the survival+score elements. Some dark tidings in it and SMB3 is a big step down for me (I suspect you’d hate it)

I can’t say it’s number 1 cause I think 64 is legendary BUT it switches back and forth with SMB3 for number 2

Yeah, it was bonkers. That SMB3 reveal damn-near caused my head to explode in the theatre. To say I was hyped would be an understatement.

An explanation, both SMB3 and OOT were sold out everywhere. My grandmother who worked in electronics at a dept store for 30 years secretly saved a copy of both games for me and surprised me Xmas Eve.
So in 5th grade and at age 19, I had two of my three favorite christmases, 8 years apart.

My cousin's NES had like, Duck Hunt + SMB1 and SMB3 and a few other games, so I didn't get to play it even when I was a budding wee sprout and it was (relatively) newer

I first saw The Wizard's reveal of the SMB3 title screen like 15 years after I first played the game, and it STILL gave me chills and made me jealous of everyone who got to experience it as intended.
