Anyway it's not that we have no snowpack. We have snowpack. In most counties it's the lowest or second lowest snowpack in history. But. You know. It can get worse than this.

February heatwave caused an unprecedented collapse of the snowpack.
Several factors are driving the fire outbreak: a low-snow year that dried out the land, dry lightning that sparked blazes, low humidity, and powerful winds expected to stay strong into Sunday.

That marks the earliest snowpack melt since 2018, and the 5th-earliest on record (since 1987). It’s also about two weeks earlier than average.
This also fully opens the door for summer fire season.
