I no longer think it's just SOCOM; there's almost certainly quite a few naval officers who need to see the inside of a jail cell
Authorities - what a lot of people don't appreciate (mostly because until recently it was taken for granted) is that there is (or at least is supposed to be) direct traceability between any order for military action involving the use of force and the authority authorizing that action
On the one hand I don't think it's unreasonable to expect any commissioned officer to understand that "inherent Art II powers" are not sufficient authorization for use of force, so right on down to the trigger puller

Incidentally he was not only the SOCOM boss but was one who did the JSOC-SOCOM flyup....back to my point that the McRaven/Votel/T2 JSOC+SOCOM was fundamentally different in some ways from Fenton/Bradley JSOC+SOCOM

The fact that this is a surprise to Bradley, presumably Fenton, and a whole bunch of large adult son SOF officers is a justifiable reason alone to fire everyone at SOCOM, just for being fucking stupid
