The collapse of GOP control in state legislatures and downballot statewide races (SoS, AG, etc.) will be very significant for 2028 elections.
I know everybody is understandably focused on the US Senate, but it looks to me like more than 75% of Americans will reside in states with Democratic governors, which seems like a very very big deal too.

RESULT: Georgia Democrats having an extraordinary night.

They have won the elections for attorney general and secretary of state, flipping both offices.

The SoS race was to succeed Raffensperger, who rebuked Trump's call to "find" votes; GOP nominee echoed the idea of "irregularities" in 2020.

Georgia looks like a blue executive sweep, right? Governor, SOS, AG?

Apocalyptic results for the GOP in Nevada.

Democrat Aaron Ford will be the next governor, ousting the Republican incumbent.

Democrats regain control of the full government.

They also gain in the legislature. Sweep all four House seats. Plus win LG, AG, treasurer, SoS, controller.

The SOS knew it was bad data. That's a feature, not a bug, in GOP election strategy.

Vote curing volunteers needed
UPDATE: Lamb has retaken the lead with 86% of the vote counted, and Elizabeth Lee is recruiting volunteers for ballot curing this afternoon and throughout the weekend! Let's elect a pro-Medicare For All nurse over this scumbag.

The Democratic secretaries of state have been working overtime to protect our elections. Republicans can’t win on policy or successes, so all they have left is suppression. The SoS are ready for them.

As an IN res, this whole screed by Vance is hysterical, because we *just broke* our R supermajority by voting a Dem into the SoS seat over the R who was selected to replace the v. corrupt sitting SoS R. Many I's & Rs refused to vote for any R & risk more corruption. So our D won. Easily. In Indiana.

What we know, 10:20pm edition:

—Dems FLIP House.
—Dems flip #NCSen, #SCSen. Many (many) more leads.
—Dems flip Georgia Gov, break GOP trifecta. Also AG + SOS.
—Virginians codify abortion rights, end lifetime ban on voting.
—Dems flip Hillsborough County commission, amid a ton of local gains.

There are a few county sites that are out of sync with the Texas SoS early vote dashboard, most notably the largest county Harris (Houston), which is running a little behind in the SoS reports. I don't know why I can scrape the data but the SoS can't

In fact, he actually OUTPERFORMED the Dem nominees for Secretary of State and Governor on a percentage basis (and the SoS nominee in raw vote total as well)!
