I feel like every journalist (and a lot of other people who care about sourcing) has encountered some version of this: Google AI overviews confidently asserting a number for which no citation seems to exist, pulled from some random website that either contains an error or contains nothing at all
The conclusion of this great @willoremus.com piece about the Google/AI/schools dust-up should be required reading for every school superintendent and principal in the country www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

that's some "trust me bro" sourcing

This has super thin sourcing and I’d be surprised if it’s true- the people “expecting” this are just independent analysts
🚨BREAKING: Marco Rubio expected to step down and launch bid to be next US president [INDEPENDENT].

Are first rats preparing to leave the ship?

A fast food corporation famous for sourcing a lot of its food from slave labor! Like, this is a real low point for AI bros.
Wendy's puts in the very first sentence of their advergame's steam page that it's made by human artists. WENDY'S. Do you have at least as much praxis as a fast food corporation?

Holy shit. HOLY SHIT.

Abbott conceded and major news sourcing are calling the Senate race for Talarico?!

This feels too good to be true.

It's very good news,

that Westpac bank has announced it will not renew its contract with the evil US spy company Palantir.

Westpac to exit Palantir partnership
The bank will end its Palantir deal and review its sourcing safeguards as shareholder activists turn up pressure on the surveillance tech and big data company.

The Trump admin has done a lot for private equity. Why are these up so much today? Is this about less war -> less inflation -> lower rates? Sourcing takes on this.

Anyway, good luck sourcing parts in 5 years, Cybertruckers.

Sourcing on this?
November 3, 2026 at 9:54 PM
genuine question, did you actually read any of this wiki page before sourcing it? or saying anything? because it's talking directly against your points

I'm already sourcing fabric for it
November 4, 2026 at 8:10 PM
I was definitely crowd-sourcing! Thank you!

Sourcing is important.

Europeans have noticed and we will be configuring our alliances, technology sourcing and trading relationships accordingly. Trump has revealed a truth about the USA which Europeans have been denying to themselves for a very long time.

He didn't even have the courage to post his fake faux outrage apology here. Just took two weeks off the Bluesky and then came back like nothing happened.

He's very good at anti government and intelligence community reporting and sourcing. But he's a bitch.

Hear me out: Would it be a net loss to educators and children if they had to build research skills and "how to find primary and secondary sourcing" around a world without Google?

The crowd sourcing behind Wikifeet might be the most powerful collective on the Internet.

Get things that used industrial standard parts.
For a bike, make sure that they used SKF ballbearings, and you will be fine when sourcing spares.
