Trump has the crappiest speechwriting I've seen from a White House, but also, try to imagine trying to write a speech for that guy
You have to wonder who does the speech checking. Each new sentence was a contradiction of the last one. Just elementary stuff not being given attention, which is probably a sign of how the bigger stuff is being handled so incompetently

After hearing this, my grandfather would’ve taken a bullet for this man. Just a crazy skill of making great speechwriting (written by and with others, I’m sure) sound conversational.

This is not a stellar piece of speechwriting but this was one of the strongest lines.
