Some ButtonShy games like Sprawlopolis, Tussie Mussie, and Skulls of Sedlec are all great, especially if you don't know the experience of the people playing. Plus they're cheap, and easy to store and (usually) replace.

Out of the accessible coop games I’ve played, my favorite were:
- Sprawlopolis
- MicroMacro: Crime City
- Forbidden Island
- Hanabi
- The Mind
- Just One

It was already Sprawlopolis.

Sprawlopolis is more of a counting and spacial reasoning game.

Forget the Flippers
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call Steven Aramini one of our hobby’s finest designers of small-format board games. Whether we’re talking about microgames like Sprawlopolis and…

Flip Voyage is Steven Aramini's follow-up to Fliptown. Unfortunately, it misses out on what made that game so special. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/06/01/f...

Generally smoggier than in 2026.

Less the fun and sun capital of the world, than the smog and slog capital.

And the distances between places, due to short buildings, mountains, vacant lots?

That renders LA Sprawlopolis.

Where I live, nothing is even close to being far away.

I have a little PnP out as part of Micro May. It's a small card-drafting, tile-laying game with Carcassonne or Sprawlopolis vibes. It's called Serpentine and you can check it out here:

Finally set out to try #RainforestCity and wow, this one has a lot of depth. Think the card placement of Sprawlopolis with the ecological balancing of Rewild.

Tja, weil ich beim Ausdrucken der Dateien geschluddert hatte, werden die Kartenrücken von Ultimopolis halt zu Elefanten.

So geht man hier im Haus beim ✂️ klappern mit Fehlern um!

Sprawlopolis from @ButtonShy is a game where you work together to build a new city by placing cards. Good for 8+ year-olds. It's a 1-4 player Communication-Puzzle-Strategy board game, out now. www.familygamingdatabase.com/game/Sprawlo...

February's #boardgames via #bgstats shows me back on my Harmonies bullshit. We also successfully completed the alphabet challenge for the second year in a row!

I don’t think, whilst I’m breathing on this earth, that I’ll ever please the planning department of sprawlopolis. Another fail!

January's #boardgames via #bgstats
I've been trying to play a (non-digital) game a day this year, hence all the solo games.

Picked up Merv as a trade for Red Cathedral which didn't click with us. No regrets, it's a really good addition to the collection.

My 2025 in games played. I don't often track playtests as games played (although you can see a couple in my most-played there!) - I'd probably add a few plays a month if I did. Not to mention digital versions of games...

My 2025 board game wrapup! These are physical plays only; I don’t log digital plays (it would drive me crazy and the experience just isn’t the same).

Most played game of the year was the brilliant 2020 cooperative game Regicide, which I would love to see grow in popularity and audience.

#BGalphabet A for Agropolis.

I've played some Sprawlopolis, not so much this variant. Enjoy these games but rarely win.

I mostly played solo games this year (Splendor and Castles Of Burgundy being the only ones I played with other people.). I hope that changes next year. #boardgamesky #boardgames
