Every Saturday as a child, I’d go to Prahran market with Mum. We’d arrive by 11am as stallholders would start discounting. Mum haggled. She didn’t care about her imperfect English. She taught me how to negotiate. As a token of appreciation, she’d buy me a book from the bookshop on Chapel St.

Will the same stallholders attend each market weekend, or will the line-up change? That would help visitors decide which dates to come.

[Rambling] there was an incident at a con i was at earlier this year with one of the stallholders using ai, and while it was pretty clear ai was bring used- the callout post was full completely irrelevant things any artist could have done. It made me really start to worry for my own and friends art.

Overheard at the market, two neighbouring stallholders making small talk

1: "So, you got kids?"
2: "Yeah, one that talks to me, one that doesn't"
1: "Yeah, same here"

My guys, just don't be shit people 😂

Nice day for a short stroll around Little India today.

The stallholders are getting ready for Deepavali.

It's quiet now, but it's going to be mental next next week.

The reaction of most of the stallholders to seeing another man travelling with two women was also, uhhhhh, look, um, uhhhh, it didn’t make us want to buy anything from them, y’know?
