New theory:

Public libraries in Scotland are actively opposing the standardisation of the Scots language, by preventing the community transmission of Scots writing.

Global space industry is nowhere near standardisation of design to fit whatever payload deployment SpaceX might want to impose on everyone else. Given how close we supposedly are to Starship being the Falcon-9 replacement I'd expect to see some confirmation/details of a universal payload bay by now.

There are enough ways to cut the organisational cake that we haven't found the data we'd like for figuring out how many people is "enough".
Best practice; Standardisation/Itemisation reduce headcount needs too.

i expect the reason for variables is that you need to be able to change based o the environment, and in some instances micro adjustments need to be made

the other side of this is - standardisation. costs less to use the same refridgeration hardware everywhere - specialist h/w would cost more

"If the body is now an asset class, and asset classes tend toward homogenisation under market pressure, then we are watching the early stages of something else: the standardisation of the human face as a market instrument.

👏Tavares about the 'ritualistic' nature of examiner training and calibration in #MedEd. It is not necessarily a success to achieve less variability or fewer outliers amongst markers.

If we wanted 'standardisation' in assessment, we could just assign an AI robot to it.

As I am trying to argue (badly -- I am dumbass) the prospect of "openness" is antithetical to fixity; for me, open access publishing is a working exhibition of plasticity and pluriversality. Standardisation is antithetical to recursive series of processes, discoveries, possibilities.

are you sticking with SAM style ports? ZXi proposes some standardisation around $6E3B and $6F3B for SAA (and $6C3B and $6D3B for SID). There's a bunch of music players and demos written for eLeMeNtZX and MB03 that would be compatible that way.

There's a contradiction between inclusion and standardisation: adapting schools to accommodate different learners, and raising educational performance measured through standardised assessments.

The standardisation gives each cell of workers the nation's rate and asks what the city's mix alone would do; it describes the gap under one benchmark and does not say why the city's rates are higher.

I was telling the 15yo yesterday that Shakespeare spelt his own name in at least 4 different ways. The invention of the printing press, I think, set the standardisation of spelling in motion, but yes, the almost-final fixing was later.

It's interesting that English spelling/grammar wasn't standardised until the 18C, thanks in part to Samuel Johnson's dictionary. Before that it was acceptable to spell words however you chose but subsequent to the publication of the dictionary, standardisation forged ahead.

Today's budget is the opposite of tax standardisation, with new bespoke VAT rates, more complexity on different types of income, etc. Leads to a more complicated state and expensive operating framework for people.
