Why aren't we looking into hybrid trains that use open stators like maglev trains to accelerate them quickly, and on board electric engines to maintain speed between stations? Win win?

This is the underside of rotors/stators/motors. Using the steel rotor alt, so both rotors & stators use wire. 2 lines of 180 ea entering from the right, again b/c of mk3 belt limits. Foreground is lifters and return for the encased pipe on the 2nd floor.
