I started watching the new East of Eden series on Netflix. Looks good two episodes in.
Although unrelated to the Steinbeck novel, 'East of Eden' was the first single from Big Country's second album, "Steeltown" (1984).

From the surface, a strip of water contained by docks at the southeastern edge of the Hamilton Harbour appears much like any other in the industrial centre, once known as “Steeltown.” Cargo ships bound for the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway line the boat slip’s western edge. On the eastern side are piles of black slag — the hard, clumpy by-product of steel processing. But beneath the water lies a legacy of pollution, one which The Narwhal has learned is a decade behind in being cleaned up, in part due to the economic fallout of U.S. tariffs on the steel industry. summary The boat slip at ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s Hamilton steel plant is contaminated with chemicals that are harmful to aquatic health. The company has planned to remediate the site for more than a decade, but has missed several of its proposed deadlines to do so. Now, U.S. tariffs are threatening the Canadian steel industry, and a May 2026 update from ArcelorMittal Dofasco suggests the long-delayed clean-up project is on hold amid the uncertainty. The sediment in the Kenilworth Avenue boat slip is contaminated with chemicals, including polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, and heavy metals that are toxic to fish and...
