I do think this will change over time, as understanding & therapies for autistic kids improve. But for most of today’s late-diagnosed adults? Don’t fool yourselves. An autism diagnosis back when we were kids meant stigma, denial of a decent education, & abusive behavioral conditioning. #Autistic

I feel one point that kind of has to be made for the sake of discussion is that paraphilias are genuinely an oppressed class. You can lose your livelihood if the wrong people know you experience one (regardless of context), the stigma is overwhelmingly high, you can suffer with no fault of your own

I feel like this ragebait push happened hand in hand with the stigma that emerged from ‘deeply caring’ about anything from fear of looking like a fool. It was South Park’s schtick to make fun of something in the news cycle and belittle people for not sticking to the status quo!!!

this is genuinely the part of the Antisemitism Scare (taking place amidst a genuine rise in antisemitic violence world wide) which bothers me the most - policing antisemitic 'tropes' as a way of covering for genocide. it obliterates the (Good) moral stigma against antisemitism and for what
it is antisemitic to describe reality as it currently exists if it even vaguely resembles a trope.
