FWIW, I think one cause of the opposition to "college seminars" is that GOP make things publicly toxic exactly to _prevent_ Dems from doing them (see socialism + Mamdani). Dems have some policies that are good but need a bit of explaining. Preemptive stimga ensures they don't explain.

Yeah, Japan is comparatively relaxed about abortion (decreased social stimga. Small numbers of Christians, Muslims, Jews) and I wonder if that is significant in getting their rate so low.
