Medics, like journalists, are a form of ‘force multiplier’. Counter insurgents are aware of this & aim down force multipliers to weaken insurgent efforts early.

I was a medic at the Santa Ana protests in OC today.
I watched police fire tear gas, flash bangs, & rubber bullets into crowds of men, women, & children.
Other medics and I were clearly marked with red crosses, and the police were targeting us.
One of the most fucked up things I’ve ever seen.

He happens to be official search & rescue locally. This, however, is a reminder: if you are feeling helpless:: take a course like stopthebleed. For free. Or some other likewise thing. And it’s ok to go outside. You don’t have to be licensed to give aid if u do it in good faith.

I’ve seen people suggest using a belt if you don’t have a tourniquet. I recommend against this because the windlass is the key part. You can use a pen or stick instead. #StopTheBleed
