They put traffic calming devices in my neighborhood on one of the residential streets that people want to treat like a stroad because it connects two areas, and you’d have to spend 1 extra minute going to the actual stroad.

The legislature appropriated millions for a transformational project, not a stroad with curbs. If all SDOT can offer is a stroad, the legislature can (and probably will) take their money back.

With bikes, it's easy to stop and enjoy the scenery. It adds enjoyment to life, which is something you can't get with a white knuckle grip on a car steering wheel in high speed urban stroad traffic.

Instead of TOD we need to call this SAD (Stroad Adjacent Development)
in seattle, we have overlay districts where buildings are designed to accommodate pedestrians and have storefronts.
most of these streets are massive stroads bisecting neighborhoods. some are actual highways.
