the reason for this is the concept of sexual agency. what the cishetnorm characterizes as "crude" is actually "hierarchal enforcement" ie: the subject imposes their will upon the object, the man is empowered while the target of their sexuality is disempowered and put below them.

I mean, it was a ridiculous concept, but it wasn't used in the way that we imagine it being used in even our own jokes about the subject. If a largely irrelevant noble tried to object to a law in the Sejm and no magnate was backing him, his veto would typically just be laughed at.

I like the latter idea a lot, essentially framing affordances as an inherently transjective concept (i.e. describing the interaction between subject and object directly, no box-and-arrow diagrams). But it does not entirely cross with the direct perception account in my mind. Thoughts?
