Optomix replacements came today. Xaoc Tallin was love at the first try. First real VCA in this case. I had other modules which could works as VCAs but could do other things too. VCA you could overdrive was what this case was missing. Now Doepfer A-121s will get more use. #Eurorack #Synthsky

This is done by combining M & S in the inverse way:
L = (M + S) /2
R = (M − S) /2

The /2 avoids doubling the signal level.

You can achieve all using basic logic modules that can do the combinations. SumDif handles both conversions including gain compensation, so patching is straightforward.

So the SumDif module takes L and R and outputs M and S (the top part).
Both M and S now are mono signals, and you can process them independently.

For example, you might add a lot of reverb only to the Side, keeping the Mid clean and focused, which also enhances the stereo image. Or...
