I did manage to go out and do things (I can handle heat reasonably well and I did go on my evening walks - the sunshine can bother me) but my husband did not manage to do much. The heat bothers him a lot and his energy is limited so his baseline dropped

Dear Diary I’ve realised I don’t where the neighbour is putting the new house. He took out the olive trees at the front, but if the house is the front w a big back yard, the sunshine will go & it’ll be shady. … I mean logically it has to be towards the back - it’s the only way that garage fits…
Anyway… I’m asking my gardener about weed removal. I wonder if he’s noticed how much cleaner & clearer it’s been in the yard now the olive trees are gone - a foreign invasive species that’s in the NRM list of pests. Definitely more morning sun in the summertime. Probably some more weeds to go.
