I think my kids had one pen each- nicely made but extremely simple wooden pens, the only choice was red cap or blue. Supercomfy in your hand but easy for a six year old to grasp confidently. There’s almost always a box of them at art stores.

this is a so-called century plant, it is an Mexican native bAgave that blooms only 1X every 20 or 30 years, that has what looks to my eyes on it serrated-edge, oversized, stiff leaves w "carvings" in geometric forms. plant was heavily damaged in the storm several nights ago and has now been trimmed back and put in hopefully, a more hospital place in the semi shade of the Emu or eremophilia Australian Evergreen bush next to it and also next to a fern in a white pot. a pretty yellow orange trumpet flower open with five wrinkly looking petal blooms upon across fine on a block wall in US agricultural zone 9b, Sonoran desert, Phoenix foothills. the way the Peruvian Cereus cactus looked this morning, after some hours went by and most of it's blooms which were night opening and day closing had fully closed. the ones that have been pollinated will turn to fruit. an unaltered shot of a single Bloom upon a cross vine on a block wall in the Suburban Sonoran Desert of the Phoenix Foothills in agricultural zone 9B. the flower is a trumpet-shaped, pale yellow with five spoon-shaped petals.
