Lanterns was so insanely good. As someone who didn’t get the joy of watching Justice League as a kid I understand why John is so loved. He easily became one of my favorite superhero’s through 8 episodes.

My spoiler free review of Lanterns is I love how complex John Stewart’s entire family is. Idk the last time a superhero’s family was this well done. And the show sells you on all the aspects of his origin story (military and architect). Fantastic show.

People sometimes ask me the Big Racebending Question, about whether it’s important to any superhero’s story that they’re white. The only hero who I think should always be white in any adaptation is Green Arrow, as his narrative is about unlearning his assumed privilege.
This is absolutely my favourite bit of Green Arrow - where he's an old white straight cis rich dude, who often gets it *wrong* because of all those things, and aggressively so, but dammit he's putting his whole ass into trying, because everyone should.

It was SO refreshing to hear someone call the stuff in the Donny Cates run fucking bonkers and stupid.
Like, he liked the climax, but even he said he understood why people think it's stupid and a huge, ridiculous departure.
