I knew I'd seen the Panasonic M2 trident-ish controller before, and yep, as someone commented on my thread earlier about the M2, here it is with some of these third-party pads, especially the Shark and Superpad.

I managed to fix the SuperPad 64! At least temporarily that is. I'll beat Perfect Dark with it later tonight (a bit more late than usual)! Here's hoping it survives.

The Weird and the Wonderful(?) N64 pads out there as of Nintendo Official Magazine's July 1998 issue.
I'm so fascinated by the design of the Sharkpad Pro and Trident Pads. And the bottom left too reminds me of the Brawler64 from Retro Fighters.

Man, kids today know NOTHING about closing S-foils for speed with that analogue button digital CLICK! Gotta go back to the cube controller for that!

This thing reminds me so much of the controller I actually used to use on the N64, so I'm in.
And no, I'm not joking - the OG controller sucked ass. I found this at Video Games Etc. in Warren, RI in 1997, and went through four of them over the life of the console.

I had the Superpad 64!
It... didn't work well. You didn't really have comfortable control over the controls there.
I was hoping that a conventional controller in the tradition of the NES and SNES would've rocked, but the default N64 pad did the trick.

I had a Superpad Plus and my cousin had a Sharkpad Pro.
I think their Sharkpad Pro held up pretty well for a while. But I remember just destroying the analog stick on my Superpad Plus after a while.

I used a lot of the Superpad 64 Plus, but my friends also had the Superpad 64. When the analog got loose in the official controllers, this was it.

I used a lot of the Superpad 64 Plus, but my friends also had the Superpad 64. When the analog got loose in the official controllers, this was it.

The Mako/Superpad were pretty close to what the GameCube ended up doing, but somehow the GameCube still ended up being weird with its soft/wiggly triggers and C stick
