If I ever get massive fuck-off amounts of money, I'd get the rights to make US versions of those pseudo-reality shows the BBC does every so often that involves people experiencing how life was in different historical periods. (Supersizers Go, Back in Time, The Historic Farm, etc.) They're so good.

I have two degrees that focused on the literature of early 20th century Britain, I have been to every major UK history museum and done a lot of reading, and yet when I’m writing fiction set then, my first instinct is to watch the Supersizers Go episode set in that decade.

Late to this one but: for a guy completely obsessed with The Supersizers Go… (2008-9) I have shockingly little historical food content in this book!
They do eat potatoes which ARE appropriate for 1660.
I gotta put a full-on Horrible Restoration dinner party in book 2, though. 👀

I love Sue Perkins. She’s was immediately one of my favorites from The Supersizers series, and of course, QI. I have to start watching this show.

Also it would give us a version of Supersizers that doesn't have Giles "cum shots on her chest like Zorro" Coren chewing with his mouth open and doesn't lean on the historical myth that alcohol was the only thing we had to drink before pasteurization was discovered.
