I never used macwhisper. I was using superwhisper, which definitely has more features but I wasn’t using them and superwhisper has a monthly subscription.

Handy: open source, local, free. Barebones but hard to beat.

switched some keys around to suit my needs, added the floor pedal (lol) which works as a modifier and/or a trigger for Superwhisper (dictation)
