Hurricane Helene has exacerbated the food scarcity problem in western NC, and additional cuts to SNAP in the proposed congressional budget would make it even harder for folks to put food on the table.
The Senate needs to fix this bill.

Hurricane Helene tore through the Swannanoa River Valley of western North Carolina almost seven months ago, but many of the scars it left are still fresh.
I took part this morning in a Hurricane Helene cleanup group in Swannanoa, NC (one of the hardest hit areas).The area along US 70 by the Swannanoa River looked like a trash dump - it looked almost pretty again after 3 hours of work. It felt good to get outside and help the community.
