The one I go to is in Swannanoa. There's a lot of food insecurity in Swannanoa due to Hurricane Helene 2 years ago. I have seen others around but I can't think of them off the top of my head. There's little free libraries everywhere too. I donate my read books to them a lot.

Thanks for the brave share. Lots of PTSD. I was with Haley McBride at the Blue Ridge Parkway Holiday Inn. We were trapped there by the Swannanoa for four days. No one came. We finally made it up the road and found someone with a phone on the fourth day and got 350 people evacuated.

First time I've ever shared it. It was in Mills River. We were one of the lucky ones. Lots of fallen trees but no horrible flooding like Swannanoa and Fairview. Power out for 9 days only. So blessed.

So sad to see that the Asheville/Swannanoa area is still struggling to recover from not only the devastation but also the loss of life. Sadly, people have forgotten.

Board members said community skepticism exists in pockets such as Swannanoa and urged factual outreach; county staff said it will supply materials and stay in an information-only role rather than campaigning for or against the ballot measures.

Hurricane Helene revealed the crucial character of childcare facilities in rural communities and their key role in providing them with the ability to bounce back after a disaster.
Childcare Is Key to Disaster Resilience
The day before Hurricane Helene blew into Western North Carolina, Jeneal Hensley, a licensed family child care provider, was taking care of five children in her Swannanoa home. She’d been in business as The Little People’s Place in her house by the river for more than a decade and had cared for dozens of the town’s preschool-age children, along with some of her own grandchildren.

I'm untangling it to see that "The Cliffs" was a big multi-course project of a guy named Jim Anthony and that the Arden course got built by Nicklaus in 2005 but the planned Tiger Woods course in Swannanoa ran into the end of the property boom and brought down the entire enterprise.

I don't think it will be that close, and I think you'll see it most clearly in the penumbra of Buncombe: Madison, Haywood, McDowell, maybe even Henderson.
