Swifts define summer skies – fast, loud, and utterly wild.

Numbers are falling fast, but you can help by protecting nest sites and spreading the word.

📷 Tag us in your swift shots!

Really enjoyed Buxton Civic Association's #SwiftWatch this year. A super community endeavour 🙏🏻 Really important work to encourage nesting.

Off they fly to Southern Africa!

Enjoy your British Isles Swiftwatch today @tycjanc.bsky.social! 😄 I was speed reading your post, so I didn't comprehend the "from" rather than "in" wording of your greeting and initially construed the blackcap's location that you had departed Poland, er, long haul?! 🙄

Didn't read closely, but pretty excited to see Taylor Swift fly into this chimney #swiftwatch

Loss of habitat primarily….making their nests in chimneys was already an adaptation from old growth forest which is dwindling.

The #stateofcanadasbirds shows a 43% decline in aerial insectivores since 1970. But, the downtrend appears to be leveling. 🎉
Let’s keep pushing conservation efforts like the Atlantic Bank Swallow Monitoring Project & the SwiftWatch monitoring program.
