We don't mind at all! (This is a bit of a long rant so bare with us-)
The first time we noticed we're Synesthetes were when we were playing the minigame "In the Nick of Time" from MP8; the intro to the minigame flooded our brains, and the sound tasted like either fresh popcorn or crunchy chips :3

I was describing to @edoverbeek.bsky.social how the pain of this procedure showed up as colors & numbers in my brain due to my #synesthesia & he asked if synesthesia makes pain worse. IDK the answer but as I thought about it…maybe it makes it harder to dissociate? #synesthetes, what do you think?
Got a painful procedure today and am laying on my couch wishing I had someone who could bring me pho or chilaquiles. This is when it sucks to live without any other adults (and not want to spend money on Doordash, lol).

Finally, brightness-effects were interacting with self-reported strength. Synesthetes claimed different levels of strength (e.g. the bright blue for a 5 being stronger than the dark orange for a 3). And indeed, for those stronger couples, brightness effects on the pupil were also bigger

This also showed in another pupillary response: effort-linked pupil dilation was a lot bigger in controls also having to report a color per number (although not seeing one) than in the synesthetes and another control group not having to report any color. Meaning: synesthetic experience is effortless

Yeah...I usually work on a track until it looks & tastes right. Most of my music triggers certain physical sensations & sensory combinations that I have trouble translating into a specific set of separate senses. I'm always interested to here what other synesthetes experience when they listen to it!

The alphabet means nothing to me. I know it’s precious to some synesthetes, but not me. I’m a number sicko. As far as I’m concerned it exists so we have language so we can do algebra and make polynomials and do more number theory

I don't remember the actual numbers but it's something like 20% of the population in general has synesthesia of some stripe but 80% of autistics are synesthetes! FASCINATING!
