Good morning ☕️

Today I’m off to the Orthopaedic Specialist… (combination of plantar fasciitis and Synovitis). I’ve put it off far too long so it’s D Day! Wish me luck folks… 🤞

when I was 21 I walked around on my toes like a velociraptor because of the social contagion

just kidding, it was because of debilitating synovitis, I couldn't make my heels touch the ground for 6 months and it was very embarrassing
In a move that will surprise absolutely no one who's been paying attention, Stock has decided that women with disabilities are suffering from "social contagion"

FROM SHAMS:

Memphis Grizzlies F/C Brandon Clarke will undergo a procedure to address knee synovitis and is expected to be re-evaluated in 6 weeks, sources tell ESPN. Clarke missed tail end of the 2024-25 season with a PCL sprain, which has fully healed. He's expected to make a full recovery.

I seem to have De Quervain's synovitis in my left hand, which is either called Mommy Thumb or Gamer Thumb. The two genders.

I don’t get “sick” that often (re: colds/flu) but I have a tendency to be stricken with obscure shit like toxic synovitis or ailments from yesteryear like scarlet fever

Glucocorticoid injection shows little benefit for knee osteoarthritis, clinical trial finds medicalxpress.com/news/2026-01...

So much of what is done for knees totally useless (and exploitive).

They're supposedly trying 3 hydrocortisone injections first but it's affecting every cell in my body so ultimately only prednisone can save me from my immune system declaring war over and over.

Poverty, severe depression, PTSD, synovitis on the right hand, and mental and physical illnesses.

Let this be a lesson to everyone who was athletic in their youth. You'll develop arthritis in your knees early and deal with synovitis. Stay still!

So apparently I have bilateral peroneal tendon synovitis, to go with my Achilles tendinopathy.
Me: but I have a match tomorrow
Orthopaedic surgeon: *pulls face* I wouldn't advise it
Me: it's my first game back after injury, I'll only be on 10 minutes
OS: be sensible
Me: *laughs in rugby player*

I could've saved about 250 bucks if I'd just gone to the orthopedist first. 50 bucks for exam, new x-rays, a cortisone shot, and a synovitis diagnosis.

Lesson somewhere in there about the decline in both number and quality of GPs in the US.

#PathSky 43M, forearm mass. At first glance, it looks like some kind of inflammatory process, maybe a synovitis with plasma cells, fibrosis and foamy macrophages.
