#synovitis
Got the results of my CT scan this morning....and the bot (Medibot!) was right. Synovitis. Kinda interesting

Bot was 80% certain my issue was synovitis exacerbated by my being a dumbass (not getting off my foot) and previous ankle sprains and fractures.

In posttraumatic osteoarthritis mouse models, synovial Foxp3+ Treg cells accumulated early after injury and acquired tissue-adapted features.

IL-2–mediated enrichment was associated with less synovitis & cartilage damage and partial preservation of load-bearing function

PDIA4 appears to help sustain joint inflammation. Lowering this ER stress protein reduced the proliferation and migration of synovial cells involved in synovitis. doi.org/hcg94c
Stress proteins actively sustain joint inflammation in osteoarthritis, study finds
Why do some joints remain chronically inflamed in osteoarthritis and other rheumatic diseases? Researchers have taken an important step toward answering this question.

Patients with osteoarthritis of the hand face the same risk of structural progression when synovitis is present in the first carpometacarpal joint versus the interphalangeal joints, results of a prospective cohort study indicated.

I could've saved about 250 bucks if I'd just gone to the orthopedist first. 50 bucks for exam, new x-rays, a cortisone shot, and a synovitis diagnosis.

Lesson somewhere in there about the decline in both number and quality of GPs in the US.

when I was 21 I walked around on my toes like a velociraptor because of the social contagion

just kidding, it was because of debilitating synovitis, I couldn't make my heels touch the ground for 6 months and it was very embarrassing
In a move that will surprise absolutely no one who's been paying attention, Stock has decided that women with disabilities are suffering from "social contagion"
