This may be a mean way to say this, but when cis people argue that trans people are "new to oppression" or "recently marginalized," it reads to me as an admission: that because they only became aware of us about 15-20 years ago, it must mean our status as an oppressed community began then.

i’ve talked about this before but this kinda shit makes the lives of twoc exponentially worse. it creates conditions where twoc cannot articulate genuine issues from within the trans community. it creates conditions where “righteous allies” can flatten a demographic and be as abusive as they’d like
