I love that Ossoff's main tactic was just saying openly, "My opponent is a fascist worm and it makes me physically ill to be near him"

Calling Republicans out for their authoritarian bullshit actually seems to be a better tactic than attacking trans people.

Whodathunk?

Yes and the mainstream political press covers this sort of thing as a savvy horse race tactic.
These 3 hour lines are the direct result of a voter suppression law passed by Ohio Republicans limiting early voting to one location per county
Montgomery County, OH. Population 537,309. One place you can vote early.

Trump, slurring and looking like someone in deep trouble at the end of the bar, makes it clear that he came to Iowa today for HIM HIM HIM. It's quite wild that this tactic works to persuade anyone in his favor.

Remember when the line was that "whataboutism" was actually a Nazi tactic?
November 3, 2026 at 12:24 PM
Absolutely a core tactic!
"Being in a colonizing discipline first demands and then encourages an attitude that might be called intellectual hubris." Turkle, Sherry (1984). The second self: Computers and the human spirit

I remember the particular argument in the constant debates over X that emphasized the importance of engaging with the perspectives of the people saying the Nazi shit on that platform, and am struck by how diametrically opposed to that tactic it appears that Lula's Army was
I think the most important lessons to be learned from Exército do Lula is how the logics of social media platforms *can be* strategically undermined by coordination and rallying around a handful of major talking points, alongside one simple, but crucial rule: do NOT engage with far-right accounts.

From coordinated social media campaigns to reclaiming national symbols, the online strategy mobilized many to vote for Lula, in an effort that experts say offers a striking example of how the Brazilian left learned to fight the right on its turf. https://cnn.it/48sYbEp

I was already mostly convinced of this tactic for a while but now I’m 100% on board bsky.app/profile/ayou...

And tbc I’m absolutely guilty of this myself. I now think it’s the wrong tactic.
Following the Brazilian role model (where a huge whatsapp group of 10 million users asked ppl to do this), French social media users are being encouraged to block Far Right accounts and never engage with them

A tactic toward what goal, me blocking him and then forgetting he exists?
November 2, 2026 at 1:32 AM
RIGHT?! Like, we have CONTEMPORARY examples of what the fuck happens when you capitulate and adopt transphobia as a tactic.
I've got to be honest, as a British trans person watching Democrat voters talk about this stuff is just... exhausting.

Labour did this. We have seen where it ends. With every kind of bigotry rising exponentially. It's all linked. I'm living in the evidence of this strategy's failure.

Might be an effective scare tactic if we weren't trying to survive 2 years of a Republican clean sweep.
Guys we can't do SCOTUS expansion or DC statehood because those things worry Elon Musk. We don't want Elon Musk to worry, do we?

"Centrism" is a tactic, not a philosophy. I've never known anyone who was willing to fight for a tactic.

I wrote about the MAGA tactic we’ve seen this fall after various election denial and voter suppression efforts failed. Call it the bigot’s wager: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
The GOP Bets Big on Bigotry
MAGA closes out the midterms with “gutter racism.”

"Falsely claiming to have made amends with those you've hurt" seems to be a common Canceled E-Celeb tactic and I hate it.
So it turns out Noah is reaching out to people, apologizing, then pretending the people who did not accept his apology.... accepted his apology.

Absolutely slimey behavior. Glad I publicly said I don't forgive him.

almost certainly a scare tactic to boost sales now.

Liking the tactic of “fill the voting lines so long that Republicans arrive and say Not My Knees and leave “

I am familiar with this tactic
Chloe was not as cooperative with her Halloween costume as I'd hoped (popped her head up out of full ball pose), but still she's rocking the soot sprite outfit

It's the declare victory then cry fraud tactic he's going to employ

this is a terror tactic that serves the same function as having ICE agents at poll sites, voter ID laws, etc. it is a measure to balance against the effects of the 19th amendment.
