I think Canada is far more prepared than the USA is for any economic upheaval. Canadians want the win, I can taste it like metal in my mouth, I want Trump to fall flat. I'll give up a few luxuries for that outcome. #Canada #TariffThreats

I agree. #Trump is just going to use the G7 meeting to grand stand, insult and make #TariffThreats. If we must have #Rump attend, #Carney should upstage him by signing an historic agreement for #Canada to join the #EU. Don't let #Trump bring #Musk across the border.
Canada is currently President of the G7 and is hosting a summit in June. I believe it is time to send a clear message to the world: a convicted felon should not be allowed to enter Canada, let alone one who has threatened our sovereignty. Refuse entry to Trump.

Taking on Trump: Canada and EU forge closer ties – The Latest
via World news | The Guardian — Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney, has welcomed the EU’s proposal for Canada to become the bloc’s first ‘associate member’, despite threats from Donald Trump over the plan. The US president said Washington could impose ‘very serious tariffs’ or halt trade if the EU went ahead with the plan. But in a defiant speech to the European parliament, Carney called for ‘deep cooperation’ and said polling showed the overwhelming majority of Canadians supported closer ties with Europe. US-Canada Trade Dispute Escalates as Tariff Threats Loom
President Donald Trump has intensified threats against Canada over trade disagreements, demanding the country 'fall into line' or face further sanctions. The dispute comes amid broader tensions between the US and Canada, with Trump accusing Prime Minister Mark Carney and Ontario Premier Doug Ford of being 'clowns' for not agreeing to his terms. The administration is also escalating pressure on nations trading with Iran, as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent seeks to economically isolate the Islamic Republic. Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will attend the Business Council of Australia's annual dinner, where CEO Bran Black will criticize the government's tax policies for failing to address declining living standards. Albanese is also set to promote new data centre regulations requiring facilities to avoid housing sites. The article highlights ongoing geopolitical tensions and domestic economic debates, underscoring the interconnectedness of international trade and national policy decisions.

Canadians Remain Resolute Against Tariff Threats, Poll Shows
A recent poll highlights that Canadians, particularly those in Vancouver, remain steadfast in their opposition to escalating U.S. tariff threats, despite growing economic tensions between the two nations. The survey, conducted amid heightened trade disputes, reveals a strong public sentiment against potential retaliatory measures by the Trump administration, which has increasingly framed Canada as part of its '51st state' rhetoric. While the article opens with this poll, it quickly shifts to cover a range of unrelated news items, including asylum claims from FIFA World Cup visitors, campfire fines in British Columbia, and infrastructure developments like high-speed rail studies. However, the core focus remains on Canada-U.S. trade dynamics, with the poll underscoring public concern over tariffs that could disrupt cross-border commerce. Other headlines touch on legal issues, environmental disasters, and cultural events, but none directly relate to the tariff debate. The article’s structure suggests a mix of breaking news and routine updates, though the primary narrative centers on economic anxieties in the face of geopolitical uncertainty.
