Did you know...

...we added a LOT of new coaster designs just recently AND not only can you order all the bird coasters as individuals or mix and match sets, you can now also order all the Across the motu designs and Focus on flora (yes - the nasturtiums!) too.

(Note I've updated stock with what I currently have made up, and I will check fabric supplies for tūī, kākāriki and tauhou later today).

Sitting by the river behind our house, bird watching. We saw kererū, piwaiwaka, pūkeko and tauhou all flitting about.

I've decided to only vote for birds that visit my back yard for Bird of the Year this year. But given Wellington's birdlife revival, that's still way more than 5 to pick from! Tui, ruru, kaka, piwakawaka, riroriro, tauhou, kereru, korimaku and I've even heard tieke.

Gotta be quick if I want to enjoy some of my mandarins and oranges. The little buggers aka tauhou/silvereyes are having a feast!

Our gardening is like student flat housework - lack of order, tasty nibbles and hoons getting drunk, well tūī, korimako, kererū and tauhou chugging nectar and fruit.

Tauhou translates from te reo Māori "new arrival"

A flash of olive, a ring of white
A Tasman traveler takes its flight.
Tauhou, the stranger, now home in my tree
A silver-eyed singer, wild and free.🌿🍊🐦✨

Doing a late-night session at the cutting table so I can sort all the tea towel panels into piles for Gift Fair samples, Pinehaven Arts and Craft stock, and what I can list online.

Coming up next, something I haven’t seen in print as a tea towel yet. Can you guess who it is?

We have a Narnia lamppost outside by the front porch. This morning, I discovered a tauhou had somehow flown up inside it and got stuck. The ten minutes until it worked out it could get out the same way it got in were agonising.

Tauhou

fantastic! really cool use of the medium, the scraps of short stories and poems and fables feel at times disconnected but the way they weave together strengthens each piece; feels odd to pick a 'favorite' in that context, but i loved the story of the artist and her muse! bc moots hop on this

I'm in the constantly under attack cheap end of the "leafy suburbs". Developers love this bit, because the houses aren't worth saving and the sections are large. We have a tui feeder, (washed out regularly) and a kowhai in bud. The tui and the tauhou are glutting themselves. It's lovely.

Tauhou season in my Fatsia Japonica bush. The bush is right outside my window. They love the ripe berries.

Today a pair of riroriro visited me at my kitchen window (well, in the small potted feijoa against my kitchen window). I love these tiny friends--i hear them a lot, but so rarely see them, so two at the same time was really cool! And then a tauhou came over, and it seemed *huge* in comparison!
