The TCPL mainline was completed exceptionally quickly, but the St. Laurent government had to force legislation through the house in 1956, which ultimatly led to it's defeat and the election of the Diefenbaker conservatives (ending 22 years of Liberal governance). The pipe was completed by 1958.

Re: energy east, in particular, wasn't one of the main business case arguments the declining usage on the TCPL mainline? Looked like a death spiral in 2012-2014. Has bounced back considerably. Does that change its outlook?

If President Pissy Pants tries to cut off the TCPL pipeline for natural gas, I'd remind him that the pipeline also runs through Ontario before going to Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Maine.
BTW, our massive NG storage pools are now filled to the brim.

We love seeing our chapters do fun #SciArt events in their communities! Recently the Finger Lakes chapter held a Sketch with the Artists event at the Tompkins County Public Library. Artists of all ages and levels met owls and insects to observe their intricate forms.
