So much of the AI discourse is abstract. This isn't. It also raises something that rarely gets discussed: the difference between AI that serves the grieving person and AI that serves the tech company's engagement metrics. The fact that it helped you at all is worth something, whatever we make of the rest of it.

- Glossika for ear training and for turning ‘chunks’ over in my head
- Memrise for vocabulary
- a flawed but interesting one called TeacherAI for short bursts of speaking about my day
