I've been to four of five Betty's teahouses, in fact, and Betty's tea is actually made my Yorkshire, and they actually invited me the last two times, thank you very much.
It is excellent tea, but if you’re ever in Yorkshire go to Betty’s and have their house blend. It’s the best tea I’ve ever had, by a country mile - it would probably even survive microwaving (but don’t mention this or they won’t let you into Betty’s 😂)

Hanamikoji Street, at the heart of Gion, is one of Kyoto’s most atmospheric places. Lined with traditional teahouses, it’s where geiko & maiko sometimes pass by on their way to evening engagements. I wasn’t lucky enough to see them this time, but the street itself carries the charm of old Kyoto.
