Technofeudalism with an added goal of lowering the US population by 100m according to Project 2025. You can thank any Republican voter for this outcome.

As if you don't understand where all of this is going. Technofeudalism will be wholly established in edtech, and so the funds used to educate children will be siphoned to corporate billionaires.
You carry water for an odd cause.

Don’t forget the technofeudalism! And, really, the regular feudalism.

Building on this idea from the other day. Technofascism, or technofeudalism, or something like that.
And fundamentally, the role that the belief in the idea of "Artificial intelligence" plays in the technofascist imaginary is to create a world that continues to bear the fruit of a technological society, from which they can benefit, long after that society has been reduced to ignorance and ashes.

With Altmann's latest comments it's clear part of their plan is to make personal computing so expensive we have to use their fucking data centers. We shall own nothing and rent off our tech overlords.

Technofeudalism is coming. If you support AI, you are literally selling us all out.

The invasions and colonial exploitation by "Western Civilizations" never stopped, just took on new forms in each era.

Right now it is technofeudalism (US) + weird puritanical disenfranchisement of queer folks (UK).
A UK-based anti-trans group is lobbying the Indian government to get rid of laws protecting Trans people here :/

(India currently recognizes Transgender as a third gender and some states have affirmative action for trans people)

Technofeudalism - they own everything, and we work for them to earn a right to live at their whim
This is EXTREMELY pernicious. Altman effectively wants to "streamify" computing power, making you rent/license it -- putting not just AI, but *anything* you do with a computer at the whim of data center owners; just like streaming services control which titles subscribers can access.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman thinks it's "terrible" for people to have RAM in their computers rather than in a data center, as the scarcity of memory caused by the AI boom continues to drive up costs. https://bit.ly/47LJ09d

Technofeudalism

Technofeudalism is a modern economic system where big technology companies have power similar to feudal lords in the past. Instead of land, these companies control digital platforms, data, and online markets.

going to vote today so I can continue saying that it does literally nothing and its a completely rigged system that we will never be free from until we collectively revolt!!!!

Democrats this, Republicans that - the USA has one party and it's somewhere between technofeudalism and hell

Technofeudalism in action.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says having RAM in personal computers is a ‘terrible’ use of limited resources and that it would be better utilized in data centers

"From a global perspective it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their computer"

or we get closer to technofeudalism because massive firms like Oracle, many private equity groups, and growing media conglomerates will get to keep all that sweet, sweet physical infrastructure, even if their share prices or valuations drop

OH OH in this vein I also recommend malcom harris's palo alto, yanis varoufakis's technofeudalism, and shoshana zuboff's the age of surveillance capitalism...they're all bricks, and despairing reads in some ways, but very elucidating for arming yourself with knowledge
