"I know because I am" and other unearned qualities, the technoshaman class of ceo jackoffs posturing as something transcendently more than human.

Whether drinking "raw" water peppered with giardia or meat-only diets, they all have a "superhuman" gimmick to impress really dim wits.

I have been unexpectedly enjoying my WIP's main cast, but Diodorus, the technoshaman that sleeps in the engine room, is my favorite. His dialog comes easy, and he rolls well with just about any scene.

Diodorus does wear face paint. Not quite tattoos (yet), as he has to reapply it regularly, but looks similar! The ink used is engine oil, as befits a technoshaman.

Sometimes, though, there's no avoiding it, and I will admit to have had a lot of fun writing Diodorus, the technoshaman, and some of his people's mythology.

But more often than not, writing or incorporating religion into my work feels like a mire I have to crawl through.

Yana's been hanging out with Diodorus for some time now, and she's never wondered why a technoshaman from Regrilles III is named after some Greek bloke instead of a traditional Regrillian name.

Xyd clocks it immediately, but for Yana, no answers are forthcoming.

I’ve also talked about this before, but they both lost their previous roles where they felt they had a purpose. For Angel it was being a technoshaman who was able to communicate with God, for Gale it was being a bishop who was able to communicate with the Church.
