It is not 1973. Israel is not existentially threatened by its neighbors. Hafez al-Assad and Anwar Sadat are not waiting to march on Tel Aviv. Saddam Hussein is not plotting the end of Zionism in Baghdad. The biggest threat Israel faces right now are the smoldering corpses of Hezbollah and Hamas.
This is a majoritarian argument. It is not a moral one. It is not one many Jews will be persuaded by. Fortunately for those making it, there are very few Jews so we can have terms dictated to us on the basis of "do this or we abandon you to your deaths." You have the power. Congratulations.
