this tracks with the telsa autopilot; they use cameras/visual spectrum optics. if we give musk generous benefit of the doubt here, maybe he's talking about advanced optical detection?

If I were a Telsa shareholder, I would also be concerned that my putative CEO is spending so much of his time not being CEO of Tesla.

Waymo is far safer than Telsa, but that's the problem. We don't have a standard. I also question the wisdom of ceding transportation to the same company that controls a large portion of the internet, homes, media, phones, etc.
That said, this is not even my primary set of concerns.
