It's no wonder he (like Rey) flounders in TROS trying to figure out how to just be himself. I'll get into it more later, but TROS not necessarily echoing ROTJ as much as TFA & TLJ do ANH & TESB is so important cos it takes the training wheels off for the gang to finally evolve fully.

youre right. ANH, TESB, the first and third acts of RotJ, the duel in TPM, and the live-action cutscenes in Dark Forces II are the only good Star Wars movies
There are people out there who claim that the only good Star Wars movies are A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, and I do not trust a single word those people say on anything.

I own this book. TESB did use a proto-Go Motion on a few tauntaun shots, but the full-blown technique, with computer-controlled motors moving the puppet during a frame exposure was developed (and named) for Dragonslayer. IDK it had been tried in the 20s. Manually.

I collected almost every issue of Cinefex. No Go-Motion for TESB stop-motion animation shots. Every frame of the tauntauns and walkers are razor-sharp with O'Brien/ Harryhausen-esque strobing. Go-Motion was developed for Dragonslayer in 1981.
